What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) provides an easy way to monitor fresh content. RSS feeds highlight new material so you don't have to repeatedly check a site yourself for updates.

When new information appears on FarmPolicyFacts.org, our corresponding RSS feeds are updated and your RSS reader alerts you of the new content.

RSS feeds are usually identified by the following buttons because they are distributed in XML (Extensible Markup Language) format:

How can I use FarmPolicyFacts.org RSS feeds?
First you'll need an RSS reader, which can alert you to FarmPolicyFacts.org content as it is updated.

Once you have an RSS reader installed, copy the shortcut link from one of the XML buttons at right and paste it into your chosen reader application.


Add FarmPolicyFacts.org RSS to My Yahoo!

After copying one of the shortcut links from the XML buttons at left, click "Add Content" on your My Yahoo! page. A link will appear on the following page labeled "Add RSS by URL." Click that link and paste the RSS shortcut into the resulting text box and click "Add."

To move your chosen FarmPolicyFacts.org RSS feed upwards to a higher position on your My Yahoo! page, click the "Change Layout" link at the top and select your SFGate RSS feed from the "Wide Column" list. Then click the up arrow button next to the list one or more times to move your chosen SFGate RSS feed upward. Further information is available at Yahoo! on their RSS Headlines Module page.

Add FarmPolicyFacts.org RSS to Google

After copying one of the RSS shortcut links from the XML buttons at left, click "Add content" or "Personalize your Google homepage" on your Google homepage. Click "Create a Section" in the list that appears and a text box will be displayed for you to "enter a feed." Paste your RSS shortcut into the text box and click "Go."

You can drag and drop to rearrange your Google page. Further information is available at Google in their Homepage help section.

FireFox FarmPolicyFacts.org RSS in Mozilla Firefox

"Live Bookmarks" let users of the Mozilla Firefox web browser load RSS feeds into their bookmarks menu.

FarmPolicyFacts.org pages that are enabled for Live Bookmarks place this icon (rss icon) on the bottom right corner of the Firefox browser. Clicking on the icon and selecting an RSS feed will bring up Firefox's Add Bookmark dialog. Select 'OK' and you will see SFGate Live Bookmarks with the rest of your bookmarks.

With the built-in RSS reader in IE7, the latest updates from BusinessWeek can be delivered directly to your browser! If you are not running Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft encourages you to download the browser for free at www.microsoft.com/ie.
